14”/50 caliber naval rifles served as main armament for US battleships built around the 1930’s.

These powerful weapons saw much service in World War Two - providing effective shore bombardment throughout the Pacific theater. 14”/50 gunned US battleships engaged in the last battleship-on-battleship action in history at the Battle of Surigao Straight in October of 1944.
