FAQ

ARE THE SLICES FROM ACTUAL GUN BARRELS?

No. The slices are commemorative reproductions. Original gun barrel slices are almost impossible to find and would typically be much more expensive.

CAN THE NAME PLAQUE BE CUSTOMIZED?

Yes. The plaque can be inscribed however you desire - specific ship, specific date, specific battle, battle stars, name of a service member, ballistic information, etc. Please contact me with what you want!

WHERE ARE THE GUN BARREL SLICES MADE?

All gun barrel slices are fabricated in the USA from 4140 steel by a veteran-owned machine shop. Made in the USA - just like the original guns.

IS THE RIFLING TWIST REPRESENTED IN THE SLICE?

No. The rifling twist is not represented in the gun barrel slice due to its relatively thin 1/2” thickness - you honestly can’t really even tell.

CAN THE CENTER MEDALLION BE SOMETHING ELSE?

Yes. The US Navy medallion can be replaced with a different medallion, or a picture of a specific ship, or a picture of a service member. Please contact me with your idea!

WHAT KIND OF FINISH IS ON THE SLICES?

Either a blanchard ground finish, or a circular finish as a lathe would produce - depends on the condition of the 4140 steel they are cut from. Please contact me for exact pictures. The slices are clear-coated with an acrylic satin spray.
