14”/45 caliber naval rifles served as main armament for US battleships built around the 1920’s. These capable weapons saw much service during World War Two - providing effective shore bombardment in both the European and Pacific theaters.
The gun barrel slice pictured here proudly represents the USS TEXAS BB-35 and is painted Navy Blue as the battleship was camouflaged during action in the Pacific theater and as is currently painted during current restoration. The 14"/45 size is regularly painted Haze Gray usless specified otherwise - as it is shown here.
